The cost of the trip will include bed & breakfast at all hotels (10 nights) and five dinners, travel by touring coach, garden visits (including Floriade) as mentioned, services of a specialist tour manager/guide, all taxes. Airfare to Amsterdam not included. All hotels and garden visits are subject to availability.

Cost for Belgium and Netherlands - 2022 trip is $4,350.00 (airfare not included), $1,000 single supplement  Book early and SAVE - $4,150 if you book by December 31, 2021. A $500.00 deposit will hold your spot! Final payments due in January and March 2022.

Belgium and Netherlands Gardens - April 30 - May 10, 2022

Tour Overview

Our 2022 trip will begin in Amsterdam where we will meet Michael and our tour coach. Most likely we will meet at Schipol Airport. From there we will travel to Amsterdam for a canal tour of the city. Overnight at Inntel Hotel in the heart of the city. Dinner at a nearby restaurant. The next day we will visit the Hortus Botanica, the botanical garden of Amsterdam whithin walking distance of our hotel. This exceptional garden was founded in 1638. In the afternoon we will visit the town of Weesp to visit the garden of Jacqueline van der Kloet. Overnight at Inntel Hotel with dinner on your own to explore the cities restaurants. We will leave Amsterdam and head toward Belgium.  On the way we will vist the Clingendael Japanese Garden, in a  suburb of the Hague. Then we will pay a visit to the windmills of Kinderdyke. These 19 windmills were mostly built in the 18th century to drain the "polder", creating rich agricultural land. We then cross over into Belgium, to the historic ciy of Bruges. Overnight NH Hotel, just minutes walk from the main square. Dinner included tonight. This monring we take a leisurely boat ride to the Flemish village of Damme.There are several cafes and restarants here for lunch. In the afternoon we visit the gardens of Oosterkerke Castle, the home of Baron & Baroness Van der Elste. The garden were designed by renowned Dutch designer Mien Ruys. Overnight NH Hotel, Bruges. Dinner on your own. We will visit two private garden in Belgium today. Both of them are topiary gardens. Overnight NH Hotel, Bruges. Dinner on your own. Today we visit one private garden, the garden of the designer of one of the private gardens we visited yesterday. You will then have a free afternoon to explore Bruges on your own.  Bruges crafts some of the most luxurious lace in the world. Pop into one of the lace shops dotted around the city to buy a lace souvenir, or better yet visit the Lace Centre to learn more about the history of lace in Bruges. Or just enjoy walking around this picturesque city with its unique architecture. Overnight NH Hotel, Bruges. We head to the Port city of Antwerp to visit the house and garden of Peter Paul Reubens. We will then visit the Kalmhout Arboretum, our last garden visit in Belgium as we leave Belgium and return to the Netherlands. We will stay in the city of Utrecht. Overnight Anthony Hotel, Utrecht. Dinner at the hotel. Today is the visit to Floriade. This year the every 10 year horticulture show will be held in Almere near Amsterdam. The theme will be a celebration of green and sustainable technology. Overnight Anthony Hotel, Utrecht. Dinner on your own. On your last day of the tour we will visit only one garden. It is quite a drive from the hotel but it is a garden worth visiting. This is the garden of the late Mien Ruys, the leading Dutch garden designer of the immediate post-war years. She was considered to be one of the world's top ten landscape designers. Overnight Anthony Hotel, Utrecht. Dinner included as it is our last night together. Over the 10 day tour we plan to visit many different gardens in addition to natural wonders and historic locations.
